Welcome to Rentals.gy. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Rentals.gy website and your rental of vehicles, heavy equipment, and other rental services offered through our business.
By accessing this website or requesting, booking, or using any rental service, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use our website or services.
1. About Rentals.gy
Rentals.gy provides vehicle and equipment rental services in Guyana, including rental options such as trucks, SUVs, sedans, buses, excavators, skid steers, and other equipment, subject to availability.
References to “Rentals.gy,” “we,” “us,” or “our” refer to the business operating the Rentals.gy website. References to “you” or “customer” refer to the person or organization requesting or using our rental services.
2. Rental Requests and Reservations
Submitting a rental request through our website does not necessarily constitute a confirmed reservation.
A rental is confirmed only after Rentals.gy has reviewed the request and communicated confirmation to the customer. Availability may change until the booking has been confirmed.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate information, including:
Full name and contact information
Rental dates and times
Type of vehicle or equipment required
Intended use, where applicable
Pickup or delivery information
Any other information reasonably required to process the rental
We reserve the right to decline a rental request where the requested vehicle or equipment is unavailable or where the proposed rental does not meet our requirements.
3. Eligibility and Required Documentation
Customers must meet all applicable legal and company requirements before receiving a rental.
Depending on the type of rental, we may require identification, a valid driver’s licence, business information, proof of address, payment information, or other documentation.
For vehicle rentals, the customer must be legally permitted to operate the applicable vehicle under the laws of Guyana.
For equipment rentals, customers may be required to demonstrate appropriate experience, qualifications, licences, or training where applicable.
4. Rental Rates and Payment
Rental rates are communicated to customers based on the vehicle or equipment selected, rental period, availability, and applicable rental conditions.
Additional charges may apply for services or circumstances such as:
Delivery and collection
Extended rental periods
Fuel or refuelling
Excess mileage or usage
Damage or loss
Cleaning
Late returns
Additional equipment or services
Applicable taxes, fees, or other charges
Any applicable deposit, advance payment, or security requirement will be communicated to the customer before or during the rental process.
5. Security Deposits
Where a security deposit is required, the amount and conditions will be communicated before the rental is finalized.
The deposit may be used, where applicable, to cover damage, loss, unpaid rental charges, excessive cleaning, late return charges, or other amounts owed under the rental agreement.
Any remaining refundable amount will be handled in accordance with the applicable rental agreement and company procedures.
6. Use of Vehicles and Equipment
Customers must use rented vehicles and equipment responsibly and only for lawful purposes.
Unless specifically authorized by Rentals.gy, customers must not:
Use a vehicle or equipment for illegal activities
Allow unauthorized persons to operate the vehicle or equipment
Sub-rent, transfer, or lend the rental to another person
Use equipment beyond its intended capacity
Operate equipment negligently or recklessly
Modify, dismantle, or attempt to repair rental equipment without authorization
Use vehicles or equipment in prohibited or unsafe conditions
Remove, disable, or interfere with safety devices or tracking equipment
Customers are responsible for following all applicable laws, regulations, safety requirements, manufacturer’s instructions, and operating procedures.
7. Driver and Operator Responsibility
Where a rental requires a driver or operator, the customer is responsible for ensuring that only authorized and appropriately qualified individuals operate the vehicle or equipment.
Rentals.gy may refuse to release a vehicle or equipment if we reasonably believe that the proposed driver or operator does not meet applicable requirements or that the rental would create an unreasonable safety risk.
8. Inspection and Condition of Rental
Customers should inspect the vehicle or equipment at pickup or delivery and report any existing damage, defects, or issues to Rentals.gy as soon as possible.
Customers should not assume responsibility for pre-existing damage that has been properly documented.
During the rental period, customers are responsible for taking reasonable care of the rented vehicle or equipment and for promptly reporting accidents, damage, mechanical problems, or other issues.
9. Damage, Loss, and Theft
The customer may be responsible for damage to, loss of, or theft of rented vehicles or equipment where such damage, loss, or theft results from the customer’s negligence, misuse, unauthorized use, failure to follow instructions, or breach of the rental agreement.
Customers must immediately notify Rentals.gy of any accident, theft, loss, significant damage, or mechanical issue involving the rental.
Where appropriate, customers may also be required to notify the relevant authorities or insurance provider.
10. Fuel, Mileage, and Usage
Where applicable, rental conditions may specify fuel requirements, mileage limits, operating-hour limits, or other usage restrictions.
Customers may be charged for fuel, excess mileage, excess operating hours, or other usage beyond the agreed rental terms.
Specific limits and charges will be communicated as part of the applicable rental agreement or booking.
11. Pickup, Delivery, and Return
Customers must return vehicles and equipment at the agreed date, time, and location unless another arrangement has been approved by Rentals.gy.
Late returns may result in additional charges.
For equipment or vehicles delivered by Rentals.gy, the customer must ensure that the agreed delivery location is reasonably accessible and suitable for the safe delivery and collection of the rental.
12. Cancellations and Changes
Cancellation and modification terms may vary depending on the type of rental, rental period, and booking conditions.
Customers should contact Rentals.gy as soon as possible if they need to cancel, postpone, extend, or modify a rental.
Any applicable cancellation charges, refunds, or administrative fees will be handled according to the terms communicated at the time of booking.
13. Availability and Substitution
All vehicles and equipment are subject to availability.
While Rentals.gy will make reasonable efforts to provide the requested vehicle or equipment, we may provide a comparable alternative where the originally requested item becomes unavailable due to maintenance, breakdown, prior rental extension, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
14. Mechanical Problems and Maintenance
Vehicles and equipment may occasionally experience mechanical or operational problems despite reasonable maintenance and inspection.
Customers must promptly report mechanical problems or safety concerns and must not continue operating equipment where doing so could cause further damage or create a safety risk.
Customers must not authorize significant repairs without prior approval from Rentals.gy, except where immediate action is reasonably necessary to protect people or prevent significant damage.
15. Prohibited Activities
Unless expressly authorized in writing, rental vehicles and equipment must not be used for unlawful activities, racing, competitive events, or other activities that create unreasonable risk or exceed the intended purpose of the rental.
Specific restrictions may apply depending on the vehicle or equipment.
16. Website Information
We make reasonable efforts to keep information on the Rentals.gy website accurate and up to date.
However, descriptions, images, specifications, availability, pricing, and other information may change without notice.
Website content should not be interpreted as a guarantee that a particular vehicle, equipment item, specification, or service will be available at a particular time.
17. Third-Party Services
